OK - So I told myself last year that come January, I'd try my hand at posting to this blog. So, here it goes. After spending Christmas at home here in California, we headed up North for the week of New Year's. We found tons of snow all around, and had a great time visiting family we don't get to see too often. We started in St. George with a visit to my mom (a.k.a. "Donna Yuck" HA HA) and then headed further north to drop in on the Hales. Connor and company loved being pulled around in the snow by the ATV (thanks Cody!) Then we stopped at BYU, ate pizza at Heap's, and made it to Grandma & Grandpa's later that evening. We rounded the week out with a little shopping, a few movies, too many episodes of "Spongebob Squarepants," (Connor & Andrew just LOVE Grandpa's DirectTV connection...), a great New Year's Eve feast/party at Jim & Deanna's, a visit to Body Worlds, the Sugar Bowl party (go Utes!), a visit w/ Lee & Marlene & family, a new blanket of snow, and a long drive home. At least Tyler was a happy camper -- we managed to find his "New Super Mario" DS game at Game Stop in Las Vegas. Of course, it only took stops along the way at 2 Best Buys, 1 Costco, 1 Target, and 1 Walmart to find it. No wonder I'm tired.

New Year's Eve with Grandpa and Grandma, Deanna, Todd, John's Families

Last night was spent having lots of fun at Deanna and Jim's house eating, talking, playing a few games and eating again.  In addition to the taco bar, Jim went above and beyond and rented a real honest to goodness soft serve ice cream machine that dispensed fabulous ice cream that you could put a variety of toppings on- not your regular ice cream sundae at home event.  Also, something you wouldn't expect at a New Year's eve party would be a lesson on squid's, but more than one person got one. The professor was Connor.  You can see by his drawing that he is quite knowledgeable about the subject, just don't ask him to eat calamari . . . We did miss the rest of the family for a variety of reasons and hope you all had a great time at your celebrations.  We would love to hear about all escapades.
